Kollicoat® Smartseal 30 D – active protection simplifies and accelerates aqueous film coating operations
BASF today announced the availability of Kollicoat® Smartseal 30 D at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist (AAPS) Annual Meeting, November 14-18, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans Louisiana. The show hosts more than 10,000 attendees from the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on research and development. Visitors to BASF booth 2045 will have the opportunity to hear a presentation on this new product at 4:00 PM.

BASF joins a BMBF nanomaterial safety research program
Approximately €6.4 million earmarked for NanoGEM
BASF is a participant in a research project called NanoGEM (Nanostructured materials – Health, Exposure and Material Properties).  The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) initiated project is taking place with the involvement of 19 research institutions and companies. The project will receive approximately €4.9 million in BMBF funding over the next three years, with industry to contribute around another €1.5 million. The project is headed by the Duisburg-based Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology (IUTA).

BASF wins innovation prize with insecticidal nets for wood

BASF has been awarded an innovation prize by the Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik e. V. (KWF) (Curatorium for Forestry and Forest Technology) for its Complion™ forest protection system based on the use of insecticidal nets for wood. KWF and Munich International Trade Fairs presented the innovation medals at Interforst 2010, to recognize highly innovative forestry solutions.
Insecticidal net technology is a new approach to the protection of wood products in forestry and controls various insect species, such as bark beetles from the family Scolytidae, which breed in bark and wood.
